Midwifery Services: Complete Prenatal, Intrapartum & Postpartum Midwifery Services
Every woman and baby is given devoted, individualized care by myself and a trained assistant. The holistic care we provide honor's the unique relationship between mother and her baby. We also address not only the physical but also the emotional, spiritual, sexual and cultural aspects of each woman. Personalized prenatal care allows the midwife and the mother to create a trust which will allow the birth to unfold in a safe and supported relationship. I provide informed consent on all testing, procedures or concerns regarding you or your baby's health and well-being.
Midwifery Services Include:
~1 hour in-home prenatals: Monthly visits until 28 weeks; twice a month until 36 weeks;
then, once a week as you prepare for the birth of your baby.
Prenatals include: Measuring mamas vitals, growth of the baby, feeling the position of
the baby, listening to your baby's heartbeat, urinalysis, discussions about nutrition,
parenting, birth desires, current emotional changes, optional prenatal testing
and/or ultrasound, and any questions regarding your pregnancy and birth.
~Labor & Birth Services:  In-home midwifery support for home or water birth.
~Immediate Postpartum Care: I usually stay 3 hours postpartum after your birth
to ensure that all is well. I help with the first nursing and breastfeeding. I tidy the
birth room and make sure the new mama has had food and drink. Before leaving,
I discuss what is normal health for you and your baby in the first 24 hours following birth.
~5 scheduled post-partum visits: One day visit after birth, a visit when your breastmilk
comes in on day 3 or 4; a one-week visit; a two week visit and a six week visit. More
home visits are arranged if there are any concerns during your recovery.
~On-call status by phone or email for any questions or concerns.
~Prenatal Testing, Labwork & Ultrasounds offered
~Non-Medicated Childbirth Education & Preparation
~VBAC (Vaginal Birth after Ceserean) & Waterbirth Services   
~Breastfeeding Support
~Well-Woman & Newborn Care for 6 weeks after birth
