I provide midwifery care in your home. All necessary midwifery equipment and supplies are brought and set-up so that we are prepared for your birth. Your birth is led by your own desires and instincts. I am able to offer suggestions and provide more clinical support as needed.
During Labor
- Continuous midwifery support
- Assessing vital signs for both mother and her baby
- Available for suggestions to help labor progress; usually this involves rest, privacy, changing position or sometimes means a nice, long walk
- Eating and drinking as desired and encouraged by your midwives for energy and strength
- Birth follows no pattern and each birth experience is unique. You can lead your birth through movement and rest.
- Partners, children and friends are encouraged to be a part of the experience as desired by the laboring mama.
During Birth
- Birth in any position you like.
- Fetal and maternal monitoring to ensure a safe birth for all.
- Push your baby out on your own terms guided by natural instinct.
- Waterbirth has been said to ease labor pains and promote relaxation
- I provide midwifery care and respectfully monitor your birth. I am trained to provide immediate clinical assistance as needed. All necessary equipment will be ready to stabilize any concerns.
Waterbirth Services
- Tub delivery and set-up instructions included
- A birthing tub and sterile liner are available for waterbirth that can easily fit two adults
- Temperature safe and Lead Free water hose provided to be used specifically for filling the birth tub with clean, fresh water.
- Pump provided to drain tub after birth with your garden hose
VBAC: Vaginal Birth After Ceserean
Vaginal Birth After Cesarean (VBAC): I provide VBAC midwifery services for women who would like a natural birth after a previous cesarean. Research has shown that VBAC is a safe route of delivery for you and your baby.
